Container Gardening Ideas
from:If you ask most people they will agree that they want their home to look good and be appealing to themselves, their neighbours and any visitors that call. One obvious way to achieve this is with colourful plants and a well kept garden.
But there is also another way that plants can help make your home look more appealing. Consider the use of container gardening - this can be used in many cases to hide any imperfections on your property. Well placed containers with plants can physically hide and imperfections whilst others may provide a distraction from something less appealing.
Because containerised plants are portable they can be placed anywhere you may want to add some color and they can also be moved around until you get the effect you want. This method of gardening is easy and can be used for the inside of your property as well as the outside. With some container gardening ideas of your own you can create some great designs.
Rather than the typical bouquet of fresh flowers in a vase on your table, how about a stunning floral display in a container on your table? A small display is recommended so that you can still see your guests across the table and so that the plants don’t obstruct or hang into food or drinks on the table. This is a simple one of those container gardening ideas that can add a talking point and a lot of character to a room.
Gardens do not need to at ground level. Consider using an arrangement of hanging baskets for the entrance of your home and for patio areas. For patios you can also employ pedestals to raise the level of your plants. Remember for hanging baskets that you must be able to reach them to water them. You may wish to use a hose to make this easier.
If your property is located such that it doesn’t get a lot of sunlight, you can still make use of plants that require less light to grow. Begonias and petunias are good options for areas around doorway or those where there is a porch roof overhead. Large container filled with lots of vibrant colored flowers are good container gardening ideas. Plants with pretty foliage can bring lots of color even after the flowers have gone.
If you are stuck for good container gardening ideas have a look in your local gardening store or even in restaurants and other public areas where there may be many floral displays you have not noticed before. The internet and your library are also great places to consider.
